My psychology training started at the North-West University in Potchefstroom where I completed my undergraduate studies (BSc Psychology and Physiology) and honors in Psychology. Following the completion of these two degrees, I rehomed to Cape Town where I had been employed by Paarl School (Brackenfell). During this year I had been a special needs educator and facilitator, and gained immeasurable insight into, and appreciation for, the resilience, determination and neuroplasticity of human beings in challenging circumstances.

Following what I believe was one of the most significant chapters in my life at Paarl School, I continued to obtain my Masters' degree in Clinical Psychology at the North-West University (Potchefstroom). I then completed my internship at The Klerksdorp/Tshepong hospital complex in Klerksdorp (North West) where my various rotations where primarily focused on the children's- and outpatient departments, trauma- and burns unit, as well as the Psychiatric ward. I was placed at Witrand Psychiatric Hospital in Potchefstroom for my Community-service year where my rotations included the children's- ; mood- and psychosis wards.

 

During my practical training and service years, I had been exposed to a wide variety of varying degrees of mental illnesses, general life- and adjustment challenges; individual and group- therapy as well as community programs. I had served with multidisciplinary-teams (such as Psychiatrists, Speech-and Language therapists, Occupational therapists, Dietitians and Social workers)  and concurrently developed a foundational belief in the holistic healing and management in relation to humans' wellbeing.

Prior to moving to Cape Town, I had been practicing as a private practitioner in Potchefstroom, whilst also being employed at the North-West University in Potchefstroom as a part-time lecturer (School of  Psychosocial Health).

I currently practice In Table View/Blouberg, Cape Town, but also offer online therapeutic services.  I am registered at the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist in Independent practice, and  am also registered to practice at the Board of HealthCare Funders (BHF)
